Data Governance for Public Health Research in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

Course Practicalities

Welcome to the Summer School on Good Data Governance for Health Research in Low- and Middle-Income Countries course. We are happy to have you on board and look forward to your participation. This course is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research.

Course Structure

During this course you will be building a data governance plan for your project, with each week focusing on a specific section.

Each Monday session will focus on learning the principles and approaches to an aspect of data protection and will assign homework.

On the Friday we will be going over the homework and giving feedback.

At the end of the course, there will be an opportunity to review your completed data governance plan 1-1 with the team.

During the course, exercises will be completed as a group using collaborative tools, will will provide guidance on this in the first session.

Basics

Each session will consist of two hours on a Monday (lectures and exercises) and Friday (homework, feedback, and review).

Participants will be registered for either the ‘Eastern’ (9-11am GMT) or ‘Western’ (3-5pm GMT) sessions, depending on which session is requested upon sign-up.
